I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch - TopicsExpress

I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit. You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you]. Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you]. Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united) to the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. (John 15:1-4 ESV) Words written in Red! Even though I cant change the font color as I transfer them to Facebook I think its important you know these words were spoken by our Christ! Pruning and cleansing a garden is never an easy task. Im not a gardener myself. I only have a few shrubs lining our modest home front, but my mom loves flowers, the outdoors, and making her home look beautiful by keeping her yard and few flower gardens beautiful and weed free each year. My dad doesnt really share in her love of gardening but helps out to keep the peace. It takes so much work to weed the flower gardens the first time each spring and keep them clean, to trim the trees and keep them trimmed, to mow the lawn and keep it mowed. Its a never ending job. The work is not always enjoyable. The heat is sometimes unbearable, but the joy they both feel as they sit on the back porch to enjoy a cup of coffee in morning is an immense feeling of pride and accomplishment in their work, and each time they get a compliment on their handiwork Im sure their chest swells with pride. Left unattended, though, and the yard would become deep with grass needing to be mowed, the flower gardens would be overtaken by weeds, and the trees and shrubs would become too large for their respective area. Our life is the same way. When we spend time with God letting Him prune away things that hinder our walk with Him it may not be fun, but the Word of God tells us this make us more productive in our walk with Christ. Just think of the Fathers chest swelling with pride as He hears a compliment about you. He sits back and says, Well done My child, you see My pruning was worth was it! Abide in Christ. Remain stable in our faith in Him! Continue to be productive and stay strong when being pruned! Accept it for the blessing that it is. You are being productive, but get ready, because our Great God is preparing you for even greater things! How exciting is that thought? Dear Lord, I love You! I praise You for giving us Words written in Red! They remind us that Jesus not only gave His all on Calvary, He also taught with urgency while His precious feet walked the earth! Thank You Jesus! Help us abide in You! May our times of pruning be gentle and our lives be productive for Your honor and Your glory! May we always remember how vitally important it is that we remain in You! Thank You for Your sacrifice, for Your mercy, and for Your love! We give You all honor and all glory and all praise! You are so very worthy!!!!
