I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the - TopicsExpress

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. How do we look at and perceive that to be? Hillary of Poitiers makes this statement; For it is conceivable that our way to the Father could be by obeying the Sons teaching, rather than by believing that the Father dwells in the Son. Therefore , we must next seek out the true meaning of this instruction. For it isnt by cleaving to a preconceived opinion, but by studying the force of the words, that we can possess this faith. Time and time again from men of renown we hear the truth lies within the scriptures and one must read them to benefit from the meaning within them. The bible, the true Word of God needs not to be a dust collector placed on a table or in a book collection, it is to be opened and read. We should be studying to make oneself approved not going by the opinions brought forth from the pulpit, friends or acquaintances. Taking the initiative to read Gods Word is by choice, our choice, opening up our mind to not only read the Word but close ones eyes and feel the Word as well. Luke 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus knees, saying Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord! Peter was afraid by what he saw that day just as King David was afraid 2 Samuel 6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said. How shall the ark of the LORD come to me? The fear that Peter and David displayed was because of the power of the LORD for what they saw happen could only have been from God. Yet in there fear they learned to fall on Gods strength and not there own. Jesus said to Simon (Peter), Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men. So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him. Take time to study Gods Word making oneself approved and by doing so your fears will fade as do mine. Pastor Bill
