I am truly disgusted by how quickly and how rampantly this heartbreaking event has been politicized, publicized, and editorialized. A brilliant, generous, kindhearted, complex human is gone forever. We can miss him and mourn him, but dont for one second assume you or anyone else has any concept of that with which he struggled. That pain was his and his alone, and to presume, speculate, or editorialize is disrespectful, narcissistic, tacky, and cowardly. It is infinitely more difficult, brave, and true to admit that we cannot and will not ever understand his desperation, and we simply have to live with that. Thank you for the years of laughter, Robin Williams, may you find peace and joy in whatever comes next.
