I am truly humbled to represent the Eastern Region of Ghana, a place with diverse histories, cultures and peoples. The region shares boundaries on the north with Brong-Ahafo and Ashanti Regions, on the East with Volta Region, on the west with Central and Greater Accra on the south. The capital of the Eastern Region is Koforidua, and Akan is the dominant spoken language. The region houses the Akosombo Dam, one of the main electricity generation structures in Ghana, among other high capacity electricity generation structures which power the Akosombo Hydroelectric Project. The region is rich in mineral wealth, consisting of gold, diamonds, bauxite-tantalite, limestone among others. Many of the country’s renowned tertiary institutions, including All Nations University, Asheshi University and Presbytarian University College among others have their main campuses in the region. Some of the main geographical features are the Kwahu scarp, the Atiwa-Atwaredu Ranges near Kibi, The Akuapem highland, which is the southern extension of the Togo-Atakora mountain ranges and the isolated hills/mountains including the Krobo and the Yogaga mountains. From Kibi to Koforidua, from the magnificent hills to the calming waters, I am proud to present the Eastern Region of the country I love. #Em4MissGhanaUSA #virtuedriven #beautywithapurpose #missghanausa
