I am trying to be so strong for you because you always told me that people think less of women when they cry. And Ive held it as long as I can, but now the tears are flowing and I dont care who sees them. You literally changed my life. I was a naive brat in biology when I came into your biochem class in 2007. But you convinced me that I was meant to be a scientist. You convinced me that I was always capable of more and you never let me quit, even when we both wanted me to! You were my advisor in so much more than just my project, you were my coach, my cheerleader (like, totally!) my big sister, my mom, my disciplinarian, my confidant, my friend. You truly were a conqueror with a personality larger than life. You could never walk into a room unnoticed and you could definitely command that room with ease and poise. Ill never know what it is like for your family and I know it cannot compare, but I loved you and I will always do my best to make you proud.
