I am watching Stossel right now and just saw a part about government interference in the raisin market. Here is the synopsis. There is actually a government raisin board that assess 47% of the yield of raisin crops from farmers under the guise of market stability. This was brought on by some price swings during world war II. I dont have to tell you about the crook in office back then. If you do not give them your crops they fine you an amount of money equal to the market price of those raisins. If you do give them your crops they sell them overseas for less than the cost of production (ie making sure that American farmers cannot export because they cannot compete with under production prices). They say this stabilizes prices. THIS IS OUTRIGHT EXTORTION. Sadly I am not that shocked but I am angry that this sort of thing exists. There are literally thousands of bureaucracy in our federal and state governments. These ALL NEED TO GO RIGHT NOW along with all subsidies and foreign aid. Foreign aid starts when we balance the budget. #fuming #socialismsucks #stopthemadness
