I am working through my myriad of thoughts about the 50th - TopicsExpress

I am working through my myriad of thoughts about the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The promissory note of freedom is still being choked off..ing back for too many Americans insufficient funds. The bank of freedom is being stolen from by an arrogant, paternalistic society that believes that we have somehow arrived to a point where the fight does not matter. Those who have power will continue to try and consolidate it. Thus those who have received, attained rights must continue to be vigilant. I refuse to let the dream die on the vine. What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore— And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over— like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? Langston Hughes. Long live the dream!!
