My phone died a few days ago and mysteriously came back into commission this afternoon, looking none the worse except the electronic navigator had disappeared. Whatever. We are headed for a remote mountain town in Northern Ca near a retreat where my mother goes every year to be with her close friends from many years ago, as she grew up there.
