I apologize for not keeping up with phone calls, texts, emails, fb messages...I am so appreciative of the genuine concern and support for Brooke. Basically what happened was she developed pneumonia 24 hrs after being born (which happens in a slim percentage of babies) that prevented her lungs and heart from exchanging oxygen adequately and distributing it to the rest of her body. She has been on a treatment called ECMO that is doing the oxygen exchanging for her while her lungs heal and her heart rests. She has done well on the treatment and they plan to try to get her off tomorrow. Makenna is ready to bring her sister home (although that wont be soon...) KEEP PRAYING!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
