I apologize in advance for asking an off-topic question for this - TopicsExpress

I apologize in advance for asking an off-topic question for this group, since it is about drain grates, an infrastructure element not applicable to bicycle drivers since we would be riding well away from them anyway. However, Id still like to ask it due to the high level of expertise and experience here. Obviously many cyclists are are still edge riders and have to deal with them regularly. Our municipality is considering this style of grate, which I guess is an improvement over their current ones in terms of runoff volume. They have reached out to our local Bike/Ped Committee to ask what we think. I think they could be hazardous, especially if aligned such that the inside louvered edge points in the direction of travel, so a bike wheel might be led downwards and then hit the opposite edge of the hole. But maybe if the holes are small thats not really a problem. I dont know the actual dimensions. What do you think?
