I appreciate the good intentions behind veganism. We are all in this for the same reason - because we want to make the world a better place for animals. It frustrates me when I see a vegan cause more harm than good by policing everything around them and feeling the need to comment on everything they see that isnt vegan. I realize they are trying to help others see the error of their ways, but what they dont realize is that they are actually alienating people. I was scared to go vegan for so many years because I thought it meant my entire identity would revolve around my diet and that I would be required to scowl at what everyone else was eating and wearing and cause a scene in stores and restaurants that offered animal products. It wasnt until I started spending more time with David and Porcelain that I realized you can live a quiet vegan life that interferes with nothing and no one. If you really want to help the cause, try a positive approach! Instead of making disapproving remarks that make people not want to join your team, take your friends out for vegan pizza, sushi, and milkshakes and watch joyously as their eyes bug out and they say THIS IS VEGAN?! Its SO good! Just have fun and be happy!
