I attended the recital last night of baritone WARWICK FYFE in the Verbrugghen Hall, Conservatorium of Music, Sydney. Wonderful & involving music making. This man does not just sing (& with stunning resonance & musicality), he inhabits the music & the story of each song/aria. IMHO opera companies should be clamouring to engage him. And BTW, Stephen Mould was no slouch as the accompanist, especially in the numbers where he took no prisoners, but Fyfe was there all the way. A memorable evening. Pity that the recital did not attain the patronage the quality of the performances deserved.
