I believe strongly in the thin places. One that I have found are walking through the sheep pastures from the last bus to Elfvik on a Swedish summer night. The mist plays over the fields and the woods are dark. At that point you can really understand why people believed in fairies. You can see them form. Another one is being outside in the dark Swedish winter evening in Lulea (northern Sweden). The night sky is so close that it feels like a diamond encrusted blanket. It feels like I could touch the velvety darkness. I have found this in other places as well. For instance, finding a flower growing through the pavement in a city. I think the thinness is brought on by an enhanced awareness. Really opening up and seeing. Perhaps natures beauty helps to raise the awareness.
