I believe the best and only way to own a apbt/abt is if you own a home. Rental is very problimatic.(spck) As you are never secure in knowing if you move they will be able to join you. I see way to many rental stories that end in having to surrender to shelters and these shelters will PTS a apbt way before any other ...The only way I personally would choose a Pit Bull/ or any type that seems to appear(but alot of times really isnt a apbt) is if I owned and didnt ever have to worry if I couldnt keep them because some narrow minded, uniformed person wont accept my dog into their rental property. You see these sad stories of loss everyday. I believe if you dont own then you should reconsider having a Pittie. They are the ones who ultimately suffer the consequences of your choise, you move on and they pay the price if you choose to have to have a Pit Bull/ Amer. Bully if you rent.I am obsessed with my puppies that my phone case is this picture. I, as you can see. Had a woven blanket with their picture woven into it... also so many framed picture thru out my house my sons wonder if they are really mine...lol.....I love my dogs and I only considered rescuing(foster failure Xs4 btw) only because I knew the consequence if I rented and knowing I owned spun the whole thing around in my favor when I became a home owner.. I also have a disability. and I have the back up of registering my dogs as emotional therapy animals...each with their own personal need of one thing or another. Two(seperate times not together on outings mind you)accompanies me out of my home. and although(because they are not service animals) they (store or public places) can request I leave which has never happened .Another, who helps me get around the house one who just cuddles helps me thru my anxiety PTSD and depression and breathing disorder( I have stage 3 advanced emphysema) this also ensures that NO ONE can force me to get rid of my dogs falling under category that no one can deny you rental because of your breed type due to the fact they are reg. emo therapy dogs.....I can also take them on plane trips etc. That is a big deal. BSL....would be the only thing to end my dogs living in my home....BSL needs to be banned everywhere!!!!! Sorry such long post. But if you rent there are so many other babies of other breeds in shelters that need a second chance and are not discriminated against that you can consider having as your FOREVER friend...cause this is what they are when you choose to get a dog...Their lifetime commitment...remember that.
