I believe this little wildflower is a Meadow Buttercup, because - TopicsExpress

I believe this little wildflower is a Meadow Buttercup, because the yellow flowers are a glossy, saucer shaped flower, and are about the right size, and the leaves are deeply divided into narrow pointed segments on the longer stalks. The flowers have 5 broad, shiny petals, which are normal for the Meadow Buttercup. These grow in areas that are moist, well drained, open sites. This plant was originally introduced from Europe but spread across North Americas foothills from British Columbia and Alberta to Wyoming. The Meadow Buttercup is a perennial herb with hollow stems and fleshy fibrous roots, and was used in the past as a counter irritant to the skin when treating arthritis and neuralgia, and the plant is an irritant to mucus membranes and to sensitive skin.
