I came home today to find that the GAS SAFE ENGINEER failed to repair our boiler due to requiring parts. We had a cold water tap that wasnt working but had hot water? Now we have no hot water but the cold tap works and apparently he cant get parts until Monday to repair the boiler that was working fine. As my housemates and myself work in the food industry or health care am I within my rights to refuse to pay? I wrote him a shitty message saying, coming home to find we had no hot water from my house mate, rather than him telling me is not acceptable as I could have made other arrangements to have a shower. And as this is the second time since April (5 days without hot water) will I receive compensation or discount on my rent? This is what he wrote back: My plumber has been in all day dealing with a list of problems that the tenants had complained about, he should have been here weeks ago. He had dealt with the boiler all day and found it needed several parts. He reconed it might take a week to order parts. I cant help that he hadnt been before as my hands are tied. He called me tonight and told me, so I got straight onto BAXI boilers (main dealers)paid for an emergency call out but they cant get out till Monday. The boiler has been looked at every time its gone wrong, a lot of time its because its left on constant. I realise this is not acceptable as you all work but I had the call after work at 6pm tonight and dealt with emergency firm straight away. In answer 2 not letting you know I was texting Chris as it happened with plumber (NO IDEA WHO CHRIS IS) Then I had to pick the kids up from school with no phone signal. Just back now. I realise its far from ideal and I told the plumber the same, but until BAXI come out I am stuck. I have had the roof repaired this week also. ( WHATS THAT GOT TO DO WITH HEATING THE WATER?) A lot goes on that you dont see. Painter organised to paint the kitchen in the next few weeks this is just a pain on top..... Mmmmmmmmm, is it just me or is there a strong smell of bull shit? An emergency PLUMBER takes 5 days to come out? At least the leaking roof has been fixed that started leaking in JANUARY..And trhe kitchen he promised to paint LAST YEAR is getting painted. Where do I stand? Can I refuse to pay my rent??????????? Thank you for reading this :)
