I cant help but wonder.... What would you be like today? Would you be happy and healthy in every single way? Would we laugh outside still, Would we still play? You were every childs dream come true, I always dreamt of having someone new, A best friend, A role model, But what I received was clear out of the blue. God gave me what you regular people call a father, But I call him my friend, And my guardian, My life protector. He did not die, Hes simply watching from up high, Laughing at me, Smiling so sly. Hes watchin Hailei grow, As most of us are, But now hes up there with grandpa, Up in the stars. So no, Richard was not just a father, He was oh so much more, Now kiddies, Tell him you love him, Because theres only one door. A father can be a childs best friend. He was mine, Will always be until the end.
