I challenge each of my friends on facebook to think of someone who lives in your building, a neighbor, or someone not to far away who is all alone on this special day as I have been that person all alone on this day many years. No visitors, no meals to sit down and share with someone, no joy, just alone, just another day it seems to them. call him/her, bring them something small and meaningful and just wish them a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa or simply Happy Holidays. And the most rewarding, special part is when you dont let anyone see or hear you do it. I did so on Thxgiving day, looking around the parking lot so as to not be noticed. I didnt think anyone saw me. Walking back to my car after giving something to a homeless family with kids, I saw an 80-something yr old veteran with his navy hat on stopped in his spot and stared at me, giving me a long, high in the air thumbs up from far away. Was emotional. I said pay it forward today to someone, okay? and he nodded yes.....Reach out to that person you know or were once close to years ago and let him/her know they mean something to you. It will touch you as much as it touches them. Cheers.... xoxo ken
