I could not believe I even stopped my World Cup Soccer updates while vacationing ... no regrets but I feel the need to sum it all up and give you my final thoughts up now when it`s all over ... Excellent Tournament - Huge Progress by the pre-tournament underdogs - very unexpected early elimination of traditional soccer powers and contenders - Final - 2 excellent and evenly matched teams , it was down to capitalizing on a defensive mistake and Argentina made one and Germany took advantage of it ... Hats off to Columbia , Mexico and Costa Rica ... biggest disappointment : Brazil and ... referees ( way to many pivotal mistakes ) ... random remark ... I do not know why Messi is much more easily contained and neutralized on the international level than the club level ... he was not an impact player when Argentina needed him most ... my World Cup withdrawal symptoms have begun ... PL&M !
