I could not have asked for a more beautiful day to be the hawk counter at Cape May Point State Park. Great weather, great birds, and great people made for a wonderful day. 1422 raptor sightings including over 275 American Kestrel, over 200 Osprey, 87 Peregrine Falcons, 36 Bald Eagles and the seasons first Golden Eagle. A special thanks to Dave Hedeen for keeping an eye on the dunes- the falcon count would have been a lot lower without his sharp eyes. Thanks also to Susanne Fortuna and Michael Fitzpatrick for the great food and great company.
