I cut and pasted this comment I had made on an earlier discussion where some people are talking about spending $40,000 to go to massage school. Here is what I said: I think its highly unusual for a school in NC to have a tuition of anywhere near $40K. Many community colleges have jumped on the bandwagon, which means financial aid for a lot of people; the two schools that are COMTA-approved also qualify for all kinds of financial aid---grants, not just loans. NC still only requires 500 hours of education (and so do 25 other states). It gripes me when schools do not disclose their tuition on their websites without you having to jump through a lot of hoops. The community colleges are CHEAP. A few thousand dollars including table, all supplies etc. Just cruising around on their websites: Asheville School of Massage & Yoga, 675 hours, $6850, but if you register 90 days in advance, you get $1000 off. Healing Arts School in Raleigh NC, 600 hour program. Tuition: $9800. Center for Massage & Natural Health is doing a special, Asheville NC, 600 hours, $5900. NC Massage School, Cornelius NC, 650 hours, $7925 NC School of Advanced Bodywork, Fairview NC, 500 hours, $6950, does have up to 750 hours available at additional cost. Kneaded Energy, Greensboro NC, 648 hours, $9200 Didnt have time to look at all the schools in NC, if anyone wants to add theirs with the tuition listed, feel free. And school owners in other states, PLEASE feel free to say where you are, the length of your program, and the tuition. Its a good reality check.
