I deleted my post the other day protesting American Sniper when I had not seen the movie and felt criticized (rightfully) because I had not seen the film, thus saying I had no right to make a judgement. I will copy my friend Andre Seewoods remarks because I couldnt write how I felt about the glorification of this four tour of duty American soldier any better than Andre did. I saw through my own up close and personal experience with this film how through the eyes and the mouth of this combat soldier his take on the savagery of the Iraqi people. I can in no human or spiritual way find any redeeming qualities about Chris Kyle when I juxtapose him against the people HERE who fought unarmed for their freedom in their own country to VOTE, Americans greatest of powers to effect change in human and civil rights. Watch Selma right after American Sniper and dare see this armed Sniper more of an American hero than those HERE on American soil, Black, white, and inner religious who fought unarmed for their American rights to freedom, who were and are ALREADY AMERICAN citizens, those human beings who Chris Kyle so wanted to fight for and protect. I will never in a right mind understand this concept of protecting the freedom of Americans, not to mention Clint Eastwoods confusion between this war and Vietnam.
