I didnt know anything about Alfonso Cuaróns film Gravity when I finally decided to watch it, other than the fact that Sandra Bullock and George Clooney were starring in it. I hadnt even seen the trailer - which I realize was probably a good thing, since the trailer gives the impression that this is some type of bizarre horror film that takes place in space. Gravity is anything but. Despite its highly implausible plot line and Disney-horroresque trailer, Gravity is a highly-stressful, but wondrous and meaningful contemplation on the human condition itself. I will even go so far as to say - at the risk of sounding corny - that the film, through its outstanding visuals and cinematography, even speaks to the power of the human will itself, taking the viewer through an entire cycle of life, death, conception, and re-birth. Gorgeously and impossibly shot, Gravity captures the emotion and potential of human loneliness and suffering, while sending viewers on a thrilling adventure through space and beyond.
