I disagree about overlooking the consequences of divorce. Divorce - TopicsExpress

I disagree about overlooking the consequences of divorce. Divorce is cruel to the next generation. It results in splintered lives and leaves consequences over a lifetime. Whoever posted this used the right analogy, but failed to see the deeper meaning in it. If you wouldnt support divorce in principle because divorced families have so much negative social impact, why do we pull every policy down to this level? I find this argument about love unconvincing. When you love others, you warn them of their consequence. If they make a mistake, and spend 10-20 years rebuilding their lives, you can love them, but they would have already paid their consequence. Sympathy aside, the most loving thing to do for people is to warn them before they enter a situation they cannot pull back from. Our society only legalises divorce because our hearts are hard.
