I do a project called Olivias Blankets in memory of my precious stillborn niece. (This is Decnie posting) An angel mom emailed me to tell me she was pregnant with twins, her 1st passed at 9 weeks & then near the end of the pregnancy her son was stillborn. Well call him E to protect the familys privacy. This mom received one of Olivias Blankets. She told me how it comforted her to hold E in the blanket & then to be able to separate the blanket into its halves, leaving E wrapped in one & holding the other as she left the hospital. She sent me pictures of her beautiful son wrapped in his blanket & pictures of her toes. She had her toes painted in the same pattern as the blanket! She said that the colors & pattern of the blanket remind her of her son & how shell be using those colors in future projects to honor his life. As if this wasnt enough to make me feel overwhelmed with gratitude & completely humbled that my simple project, that I work on slowly & with great care & love was used to hold her most precious gift & that she carried it as she left the hospital without her sweet boy--theres more. Baby Es shower was to take place in January & in place of the shower she (&her family/friends) have already gathered 44 new blankets to turn into Olivias blankets using the instructions on my website. I think I might love my niece more every day. Her earthly time was so short, but her beautiful spirit is still alive & is bringing love into this world.
