I do not know about others, but when I want to know where I am at in the Lord, I ask Him to give me a story in the bible that will relate to my given situation. And, God amazes me, He gives me scripture or Biblical name so I can reread their story to help understand my own. One time I remember God telling me I was like Ruth. The story goes that when Ruth went to visit Boaz when he was selling grain etc. Boaz told her to lay beside him and stay the night and he covered her with his cloak. She was to leave before any other men came so as to protect her name. I guess under normal circumstances, women who spent the night on the threshing floor were what we call women of evening. Boaz was protecting her by telling her to stay the night. God was relating to me that He had everything in control and just rest and wait on HIm to move in my given situation. That was one of several times I could share with you but I share to encourage any of you who need an answer or direction from God to ask Him to give you a book or character in the Bible for you to study until you feel He directs.
