I do not say conservatives are wrong about everything. I am merely saying, we use different words. I focus on historic injustice which now is, sadly often systemic, almost built in. It is almost glib to preach to blacks about personal responsibility and their lack of work ethic when all the tools are missing, all the preparation, the investment in education, in quality schools. Where is the opportunity when jobs are shipped overseas. Youth in harshly impacted areas often are sorely lacking in basic employable skills. With so little hope, discouragement sets in, Despair. Youth need to be prepared, empowered. You brand us as liberals and yes, I dont deny the label. All I am saying is -- this is not a partisan issue. We all should be able to confront these issues frankly. Police alone can only do very little. Prisons may sometimes change lives. But it is very far from a sure thing. And quite likely more harm than good. (In many cases) But I would tell you, listen to almost any liberal black preacher, you find virtually none who do not speak out about self-help, personal responsibility, work ethic. Avoiding the drug epidemic.
