I dont get to talk about work all that much -- mainly because its too difficult to explain, and really, who wants to hear about other peoples jobs -- but this was pretty cool: I wrote this song for a Footaction commercial a couple years ago for their Christmas campaign while I was still working at Black Iris Music (Ive been freelance for over a year now, in case anyone was wondering) and I also sang on it. Im not shitting you. That is me as the lead vocal, as well as some amazingly talented local R&B dudes singing back up. THE POINT IS THIS: today, I discovered that I won an award for this song. Silver medal at the London International Awards for Best Original Song. Of course none of this happens without an entire staff of people, so I have to thank Daron, Amy, Amanda, David, Jonathan, and Jeff for their guidance and a ton of laughs in the process. ANYWAY.
