Im cooking up a new blog, which starts with a story about how much I *HATE when a stranger sits in the empty seat next to me on a plane or train. Do you have any tricks to avoid this? My mums is to pour water all over that seat, then say to them, Oh, it appears to be wet! You cant sit here! On trains, I used to try talking loudly on my phone, thinking that Id seem like the kind of obnoxious person they wouldnt want to sit next to. Ive heard others saying that you should pat the empty seat, look at the person walking down the aisle and say, Here! Come sit next to me! to scare them off. What tricks do you use?
