I dont get up on my soapbox that often, but sometimes I feel the need to speak my mind. If the church does not feel the need to engage in the happenings around the world that cause our brothers and sisters in Christ extreme hardships, pain, and persecution, than maybe we should question where our priorities lie. It seems we are so busy liking, commenting, and posting things that are so self centered and irrelevant. At times I cant help but wonder how committed we are to the cause of Christ in our world. I know this might strike a cord with some people, but I do not exclude myself from this criticism. Sometimes Jesus found it necessary to rebuke and correct his followers. I know I am not Jesus, but I cant help but wonder what He thinks when we choose to look at puppies, kitties, and images that are easy to enjoy while ignoring the countless images of death and devastation that effect the church around the world. Rather than seeking the harsh realities that result from sin, we choose instead to fill our lives with all that is pleasant, convenient, and irrelevant to the cause of Christ, which results in a church that does not act, pray, or love how we ought, while our Savior weeps. Im not expecting many to comment on this thread because it isnt something many are willing to admit or address, but by all means have a great day and God bless you!
