I dont get why everybody is up in arms against Jesse Ventura in light of the lawsuit he recently won! Heres why: First off & most important, people automatically assume that since Chris Kyle was enlisted in the military that hes trustworthy, didnt make an honest mistake and also would be immune to the libel laws of the USA. (Dont get me wrong I respect the military and believe soldiers who give their life for this country are heros but that doesnt automatically equal innocence with regards to this case). Secondly, the burden of proof was on Ventura to PROVE that the statements made about him in Kyles book were untrue. If he ever failed to do so the case wouldve been thrown out before a verdict was reached. Finally, people are upset that Kyle died in battle and the verdict ultimately effects his estate but Ventura started the case while Kyle was still alive. Its unfortunate that Kyles widow ultimately suffers but not for nothing if Kyle in fact made untrue statements (either intentional or not) then he is at fault and not Ventura who merely pursued his right to file suit.
