I dont have any New Years Resolutions this year. But I would like to make a challenge to everyone on my friends list. This next 24 months is gonna be big regarding the politics. Rather than listen only to the political commentators on your side of the fence, I would ask that you spend some time listening to the top commentators from both sides. If youre a liberal consider listening to Hannity and OReilly. If youre a conservative, check out Maddow and Stewart. Both sides should be listening to NPR and BBC. I dont have a resolution. But I DO have a wish. That everyone become more educated about how the other side thinks, feels, and what they value. I used to listen to Limbaugh. Man I got a lot of cleaning done, because that man pisses me off like nobodys business! But I chose to listen to him because I felt with so many dittoheads in the Republican party it was my JOB as a citizen to try to understand what it was about him that resonated with people. To me he seemed so hate filled. So why was he reaching so many average, loving, normal, caring, folks? Im not gonna tell you MY conclusions. Im a liberal woman with liberal values. But, learning about how other people think? I like to believe it made me a better person and a more educated citizen.
