I dont know all the details and accusations in this story. Ill just safely assume that some criticisms of Driscoll are legit and others are from those who have less than pure motives. But this reminds me how grateful I am to be a Presbyterian. I have elders in my church that hold me accountable. I also have a presbytery with men across The region who can admonish and rebuke me. Ive told my wife Ashlee that she is to go to church leadership if I ever disqualify myself from ministry. I like being a Presbyterian because I find it biblical. But there is a practical benefit as well. No man gets higher than the collective body of Christ and is beyond criticism. We are all accountable as disciples of Jesus. Plus, its a bonus to be in a church where other members are next door neighbors and are in my home a lot of the time. Isolationism is not good if one wishes to grow in grace.
