I dont know this person, I have only heard good stories about the quality of the work carried out by his company. But I would like to know the story behind the story. We have heard of so many building companies going under because EQC/ EQR and some insurance companies owe them money or the work they promised never eventuated. I know in our own case we just settled our last claim against EQC for repairs we carried out over 2 years ago. I cant begin to tell you how much we had to spend on lawyers just to get what we were owed. They just continued to delay, deny and defend, In the end we finally got everything we were owed, but maybe the lawyers on both sides got more. How can a small builder take the fight to them like we can, the answer is, they cant. We saw a story earlier in the week about a builder contracted to Southern Response under cash flow pressure. Is Southern Response playing the same game with them as EQC did with us? We know first hand some of the dirty tricks Southern Response are prepared to engage. Why is this happening in the so called boom town. Or is it just boom town for the big boys ? It would be good for an investigative journalist to look into the liquidations of companies over the last couple of years associated with the rebuild. Compare that to all the hype about $40 Billion rebuild and 30,000 workers required and find out the story behind the headlines. There are a few big companies doing extremely well, all the Insurance companies have declared massive profits. But what has happened to everyone else.???
