I dont know why I am so affected and upset by the attacks on Charlie Hebdo, maybe it is because it is because I am a painter that I feel so strongly the importance of freedom of expression, including the right to offend. If it truly offends go to law, dont kill people. But we must remember it is about extremists and terrorists not about Muslims. We have to stand up for our beliefs while allowing the beliefs of others to exist along side. Tolerance is a wonderful word. So I am raisng my pen ( or rather pencil ) with Paris today.
