I dont normally advertise or endorse candidates for our Local 228 UAW elections... But I have to make an exception here... THE BEST, MOST QUALIFIED, and HARDEST WORKING people for the following positions are without a doubt, Julie Alvarado-Zuzga for Recording Secretary, and Diane Virelli for Vice President!! Dont forget to vote Jan.13th Ford Sterling peeps!!! It is VERY important to have the right people in the various jobs that are open in our Local. Voting for Popularity and/or name recognition is not going to cut it any longer! We NEED people with integrity, honesty and transparency, common sense and good negotiation skills, contractual knowledge, and of course membership loyalty as well as respect for our membership both as a whole and individually. We DO NOT need those interested in just getting off the floor, or staying off the floor, or those simply interested in taking full advantage of the obvious perks that come with holding office. Nor do we need someone only interested in furthering their own personal UAW career along with their friends and/or family members UAW career, at the detriment of their brothers and sisters both locally and nationally. There is a lot of BS going on in our Plant and the Big 3 as a whole. We need people that will fight for us, and for whats right, and that will take our membership forward.. NOT backwards!! People who will listen to, and advocate for, our membership. And not be intimidated by management, nor be a kiss-ass to Regional and/or Internationals sometimes adverse agendas!! We need some real leadership. Dont forget.. VOTE Tuesday, January 13th! And remember Julie for Recording Secretary and Diane for Vice President!!! Now if you will excuse me, I have to put my soap box away... at least until contract time.. :D In Solidarity.
