I dont often ask for help when it comes to medical causes. PLEASE, please consider signing this petition. Randi has the same immune deficiency disorder as me and we both have secondary conditions which are common with CVID. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois is requiring her and others to forgo their antibody infusion treatments for 4 MONTHS to prove she still has this disease. CVID as a primary immune disorder DOES NOT simply go away. Its a genetic defect. For multiple reasons, our bodies to not produce enough antibodies to fight off illness. This also raises our chances of autoimmune illness and cancer. For me, going ONE WEEK beyond my normal infusion schedule (which has happened due to medication shortages) leaves me with severe joint pain and like Randi, prone to anaphylactic episodes. At one point, I was going to the ER multiple times per week. Since starting antibody therapy in 2009, I believe I have only gone twice (in over 4 years). HUGE DIFFERENCE. I would be vulnerable to any infection that comes along as well. I also have Blue Cross/Blue Shield (not Illinois) and this is scaring the hell out of me. Again, please consider signing this. Like her petition says...you would never ask a diabetic to stop receiving insulin to see how they manage.
