I dont think Ted Cruz really understands what activism means. Roberts appears to have passed on this because he is a judicial conservative. You know, the reason everyone liked him and understood him. Even some dems grudgingly respect him, because his fundamental principle is that judges are constrained by the law. Its the same reason he wont overturn Roe v. Wade. What is odd is hes introducing an amendment, so clearly he understands that the law says something other then what he would like it to say. Very few conservatives want judges to make up laws on the fly, because that always results in some really bullshit rulings. You dont like the law, change it, but dont ask for judges to make a mockery of the idea of rule of law.
