I dont think that anyone could ever adequately express this particular pain. This brave woman comes a lot closer than any story or letter Ive ever read. While some women are excited to go back to work, some need more time. I would like to add that the ONLY reason this was even a remote possibility to me, to hand my daughters (young, vulnerable, tiny) to another set of arms. Were because I know the arms that held them loved them as much as I do. The arms who hold my daughters once held me at the same age. The arms that swaddled, changed diapers, encouraged me, reminded my daughters I loved them entirely, took pictures, wrote notes, or on the not so secret occasion lied to me about a milestone so that I wouldnt cry my eyes out over missing something. The arms that held my daughters are the ones that still hold me. I wouldnt be able to trust another with them. Thank you Wendy Morrill, I love you entirely.
