I dont think we should be hysterical regarding the decision of Numsa. I think they made their assessment and then made a decision that perhaps the best way for them to achieve Socialism is if they go out of the alliance and form a new movement. History is littered with such cases. Whether they will succeed or not, is neither here nor there. They have made a decision, which personally I think they would have made anyway irrespective, so as the ANC we cant neccessarily blame ourselves. This is also an ideological issue. So from where I am sitting/standing. Numsa is excercising its democratic right, this is not new and I wish them well in their new endeavour. Whether they are genuine or not, its not for me to determine, time will tell. I think their next goal would be to take Cosatu with them. Thats for workers to decide, no one will decide on the workers behalf on this one.
