I don’t care if gay people get married or all of that other - TopicsExpress

I don’t care if gay people get married or all of that other bullshit that goes along with being a couple. It does not affect me or harm others, so it does not bother me at all. However, I draw the line at being parents. There is a plethora of evidence that shows people are worse off if a mother or father is missing during childhood development. livescience/18196-maternal-support-child-brain.html photius/feminocracy/facts_on_fatherless_kids.html psychologytoday/blog/the-long-reach-childhood/201106/the-importance-fathers mercatornet/articles/view/why_mothers_matter/ Gay couples shouldn’t be allowed to raise children. It’s selfish, and completely ignorant of a child’s well-being. Whether or not they want a child is irrelevant — I want a tank, it doesn’t mean I should have one. Raising a child is something that should be taken seriously. It’s a life, a living, breathing person. How you treat that person as a child weighs greatly on their mental well-being. Even if you’re extremely loving to your child, that doesn’t change the fact that your child is missing a very important part of their lives which is instrumental to their development, and that is a mother/father figure. I don’t care how “politically incorrect” I sound. I don’t care if you think my caring about the welfare of children somehow makes me “homophobic” and I certainly don’t care if I’ve hurt your feelings. Raising a child in poor conditions, regardless of intention, based purely on your own desire to have a child, is selfish and immoral. Your feelings do not override facts.
