I don’t think I get enough sleep.. Today these gentlemen at work were discussing agnostic beliefs.. pros/cons.. what does it all mean, ect.. and (as when anytime views of influence come up) they gauged the environment for opinions (aka me). Generally my brain welcomes intellectual stimuli.. but in my current ( I spend too much time in the) sun induced stupor, I just stared ahead.. drooled a little bit.. drooled some more.. then said, “I really like Carl Sagan..” Which is true.. I think he’s a wonderful writer.. But what I’m really doing is being agreeable in the only way I can because dogs have invaded my sleep time and I have a soft “laying by the pool” addiction. Currently work is using the seven brain cells left (and they’re cheating as is).. any attempted response would resemble nonsense and flying spit (the spit part would be actual). Later on that evening those seven brain cells would be involved in, scrapping a botched meal into the trash (canola oil is not a proper substitute for butter) and locating socks without holes in them. The only moment I would have for this indulgence in spiritless thought would be tomorrow during post coffee, bathroom time. All higher discernings are pondered upon at this time.. (this is how I loosely accept time travel and never understand women). The Gentlemen continue their banter and I put an X on my hand to remind myself to maybe think about this later. They ask, “Do you think less of us because we’re agnostic.” and my sleepyness broke into something kinda sad. What world had they grown up in to approach their beliefs this way? I know the answer to this question.. Most of us do.. I smiled and answered back reassuringly, “As long as you’re still asking questions.. you’re fine.” So I’ll fall asleep tonight thinking of questions.. And I’ll wake up with the same answer.. I really don’t get enough sleep..
