I doubt the disciples fully comprehended who Jesus was until after His ascension into heaven. Perhaps they had regrets, wishing they had paid closer attention. Surely they searched their minds to remember and understand all that He said and did. We accept their writing as inspired by the Spirit because “the word of life… was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us…” (1 Jn. 1:2). Their personal testimony speaks volumes! FATHER, THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING TO US THROUGH YOUR WORD.
