I engaged a woman last night whose kids about! 6/7 year old was begging for a coin from us outside NAKUMATT Haiselassie in Nairobi town I had time to ask the kids where are they from and why are they begging in the street she said she was with her mother she took us where her mother was she was also begging at Mfangano street near Naivas supermarket I was shocked to find a middle aged abled bodied woman On interrogating her why beg yet she was physically fit she answered it was just a todays food coz she hadnt found casual job she does occassionary On further interrogation she said she wanted stop begging if she could assisted to start fish frying bussiness or mutumba I learnt that she comes from Embakasi where i come from I decided to put the woman and her 2 kids in a matatu back to Embakasi and i will arrange to ensure she starts bussiness whose capital she states is just 2k i gave her last night food too hoping that she gets her casual job today My concern is why beg when you are physically fit and healthy ?People should stop throwing coin to beggars and let them be empowered to fend themselve
