I faced a terrible dilemma today. As the family and I were driving - TopicsExpress

I faced a terrible dilemma today. As the family and I were driving home this afternoon, I saw a man walking awkwardly on the sidewalk. He looked to be in distress, as if he were in pain while having both hands seemingly holding his stomach. My first response was to immediately call emergency services and report that someone may be in trouble or in need of medical attention. And then a horrible thought came into my mind...this man is black. And if nothing is wrong, short of a windy day and his hands were just holding his shirt down, law enforcement officials will say that he was displaying suspicious behavior, not behavior resembling someone in need of help (which is why the call was placed to begin with) and continue to harass this man for no reason until they arrest him for not cooperating or maybe something worse (Moore comes to mind...). How illogical and shameful is that? To not place a call because you dont trust law enforcement officials to act without racist or prejudice intent? Im sick of this terrible, racist, prejudice, whatever you want to call it, mentality where we cant even attempt to help someone because the person called in to assist the situation might smoother the individual to death or brutally beat them within an inch of their life. Ive seen this behavior from Cleveland County law officials before and Ive been the recipient of prejudice and baseless attacks from law officials several times in my life for doing nothing more than what this man was doing. Walking on a sidewalk.
