I feel compelled to chime in on the game Friday night. Can anyone (WHO WAS AT THE GAME ) tell what actually happened? Having known all the boys on the team for quite a while and knowing that they are good kids, what caused such actions? All the self proclaimed experts, most of which were not at the game, want to persecute these boys to the fullest extent of the law! Do I support intentionally trying to hurt an opponent?? Absolutely NOT!! All anyone who wasnt there saw was three small video clips. What happened in the other 97% of the game? There are lots of ways to look at sportsmanship. Being up by 30 or 40 pts and having an all state player fast breaking in the 4th quarter is not sporting! Does this warrant tackling him on the court? NO!! Sounds to me that the Houlton coach maybe should have thought about substituting and the referee team completely lost control of the game! There are always two sides to every story. Again I will stress such actions shouldnt happen but also like I said before, This team is made up with 15 to 17 yr old boys who are good kids! DO NOT HANG THEM OUT because a situation got out of control!
