What do you see when you look in the mirror? I’m usually not a real religious person however I am a believer and I usually don’t do a great deal of reflecting. However I have had a great deal of time to reflect over the past 6 months and this is what I have come up with. When I look in the mirror what do I see? I see a 48 year old man who feels more like 60, a person who is lonely, a person who has wishes that will never be granted. However as I stare deeper into the mirror I see something more. I see a guy who has dedicated his life to helping others and seeing that their needs and wants are met. For the past 25 years I have dedicated my life to EMS. I have been blessed with an ability to make a difference. My dedication has come at a price however. I at times I have become cold and insensitive, I have lost my wife whom I loved so very much, and my faith has been tested. Events of this past week have made me sit down and take a close look and think…have I done enough? As I sat alone this weekend cleaning the house, doing laundry I looked deep into the mirror for answers. Yes.. I believe I have. I believe if my time on earth was done right now I could look at my maker and say yes I may have sinned and come short but I have done the best I can. I ask each one of you to stop take a minute look in the mirror and ask yourself, have you done enough, have you told the one you love you love them and have you done your best…
