I feel it important that people read my comments and answers, I am not really sure if you would agree with some of my responses, but I hope it gives you a sense that I am for transparency. If you have any questions please feel free to ask? For people that dont know me here is a little bit of information: My name is Malanie Bercier Cutler. I am running for City Council. I love this community, and Thompson is my home. I am married to a Vale Miner, and proud to say that my family is a 3rd generation born here. Originally from Wabowden, my twin and I were born in Thompson in the early 70’s. In early 1980, we were adopted to a couple in Thompson. (Always known as the twinnies, in Wabowden or the Bercier girls, in Thompson) What makes me an ideal candidate to run for City Council! I love Thompson. I have a business back ground. I understand what time and energy it takes to bring or organize events, volunteer, I desire to help bring positive changes to Thompson. I look forward to working with all of the citizens in our community. This is our home. I attend council meetings and watch it on Shaw, to ensure I am informed on what is happening in our City, it involves all of us. Understanding the role that councillors must play, it is very important to remember that our community is like no other, we are a community in the north. We are sometimes forgotten and we have to make sure we are remembered. It takes a lot of money to help Thompson evolve. We need councillors to work together with different ideas and understanding, I am open minded and able to look at all aspects at any given situation. When I disagree with something, I voice my opinion. I do my homework, ask questions, and get other people’s opinions, to ensure that I understand all aspects of an issue. When it is all said and done, I try to come up with a positive outlook or have a suggestion or two to help fix a problem.
