I feel like I am taking crazy pills when I see people call Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2 hardcore role playing games.....Dragon Age Origins was an RPG, Mass Effect 1 was KIND OF an RPG...I only consider a game a real RPG if you build the character yourself and your story is not stuck in super narrow confines. The 2nd installments for both games were almost all action and just told a chapter of a story like a book about THEIR life, not the life of a character you made yourself. Granted the first Mass Effect was still about Shepard....so he was not YOUR creation but it had more classic RPG elements than....OMG COLLECTORS e0o ERMAGERD ROCKET IT IN THE FACE! Dragon Age 2 was literally having you play the life of a pre-determined character where you got to make insignificant decisions about their life which did not hold any meaning in the bigger picture. -3- In short, they may both be called RPGs....but they are in no way hardcore RPGs :D
