I feel like this guy when I listen to some folks talk about wine. Knowledge can some times be a hindrance, I think. For me, I enjoy the simple side of myself, maybe this is because I am less evolved in pallet, intelligence...? I enjoy enjoying wine without always defining it by its grade or point value, or what ever everyone else has to say about it. I also do love the story of a winery & the history of grapes. Its the pretentiousness that almost makes me prefer the lesser of the two options. I remember being very young & working as a waitress. A few gentlemen were seated at my booth. They seemed very different from one another & wore very different style of clothing, but seemed to have quite a bond. The man in coveralls asked for coffee to start. They have great coffee here, he exclaimed! Meanwhile the other gentleman in a suit, went on to tell us both how inexpensive and low quality our coffee was. Ill just have water, he said. I was saddened by the look on the face of the man in coveralls. I decided from that point on, I would never turn down a cup of coffee, now matter how simple.
